NIS supports IQanat

The Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey hosts IQanat hackathon workshops for 9th grade students in rural schools. The event, scheduled for 4 days, was attended by more than 90 students from the Abay region, East Kazakhstan and Pavlodar regions. They will learn digital and leadership skills from our teachers.

– First of all, I want to express my deep gratitude to the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, which provide our students with ample opportunities for learning on new topics. We work closely with
intellectual schools in every region of the country. During the ongoing training, rural children chose three courses out of five educational programs offered for training. All programs are aimed at developing students’ IT skills. In particular, learning SMM from scratch, WEB programming, mobile application development, mobilography (shooting course on the phone), Python programming language. I think that the participants of the training, with the help of family intellectuals, will spend the autumn holidays with benefit, – says Anara Matybayeva, a representative of the IQanat Foundation.

The training is beneficial for both schoolchildren and rural teachers. After all, the deputy director for educational work and the curators of the school introduce them to such network projects as “Tugan elge tagzym”, “poets of the Great Steppe”, “100 books”, “NIS talks”, “Wikipedia”, which have a positive impact on the formation of personality student.

In general, IQanat hackathon workshops, held on the basis of six Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in the cities of Aktobe, Oral, Semey, Shymkent, Karaganda, were attended by 643 students and 32 teachers.
