The student who explored fairy tales became the best

The project of a student of the 9th grade of the NIS of the Physics and Mathematics in Semey was recognized as the best in the republican competition “The Best Author of a Scientific Project”. The author of the project, Ayaulym Merekeyeva, was awarded a 1st degree Diploma.

The competition was organized by the National Innovation Research Center Vilim-orkenieti.
The research work “Mythical knowledge in Kazakh fairy tales” was started in May last under the guidance of the teacher of the Kazakh language and literature Aigul Manabayeva.

– The relevance of the topic for the project is that fairy tales not only develop children’s imagination, but also affect the upbringing of the child. A child, reading a fairy tale, can understand the difference between good and evil and form his own attitude to life. In my research, I studied the attitude of Kazakh fairy tales to science, i.e. the connection of events from the fairy tales “Kerkula atty Kendebay”, “Er Tostik” with astronomical phenomena. For example, the fact that the foals from the fairy tale “Kerkula atty Kendebay” do not leave the golden tray, but follow it along an ellipse, repeats the behavior of the Sun and the planet revolving around it. This is mythical knowledge, striving to understand the properties of the Universe, – the young researcher shared her opinion.

Ayaulym’s work was included in the collection of research materials of the competition.
