Debate Tournament “NIS CUP-2022”

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the birth of the teacher of the nation Akhmet Baitursynov, the city debate tournament “NIS CUP-2022” was held among secondary school students in the city of Semey. The tournament was attended by about 40 teams that competed in oratory. The debate, which was attended by students of grades 8-11, was organized in Kazakh, Russian and English.

– During the debate, the participants discussed various topics, including statements that computer games call teenagers to violence, the construction of a nuclear power plant in Kazakhstan is justified, in order to become a successful person, it is not necessary to graduate from a university. Opinions were also considered that the inculcation of national values in the school is implemented at the proper level or that social networks have a negative impact on the development of the Kazakh language. The purpose of the tournament is to develop the skills of oratorical, critical thinking among students, to support beginners in the Semey debate movement, – said the organizer of the event, history teacher of the NIS PM in Semey Daniyar Kemeshev.

The tournament was interesting, in the Kazakh League the first prizes were taken by “Zerek” (Semey NIS), “Elesey” (school No. 16), “Instasamka Urpaktary” (gymnasium No. 37), in the Russian League “Milky Way” (gymnasium No. 37) , “Phoenix” (school No. 28), “Central Committee of NIS” (Family NIS), in the English league divided among themselves the teams “Big dramas” (Economic Lyceum), “Idles”, “TBD” (Families NIS).
