In all branches of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools AEO, the “Independence Lesson” was held, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the lesson, the students had the opportunity to get to know better the history of their country and the achievements acquired during the years of independence. A similar lesson was held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey.
– The Independence Lesson is one of the first online events of this academic year. We wanted to show the younger generation that our independence is precious. The acquisition of independence was not easy for the Kazakhstanis. In addition, stu-dents in grades 10-11 of 97 leading secondary schools of the East Kazakhstan re-gion took part in the lesson “Historical decision that changed the world: 30 years since the closure of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site”, which was conducted with the help of teachers of the history of Kazakhstan. About 3 thousand children were covered. During the lesson, the children learned about the history of the landfill and the consequences of the explosions, the children were also told how the pro-cess of closing the polygon was going, which brought a lot of grief to the Kazakh people, – said Larisa Abylkassymova, deputy director for educational work.
The lesson with the participation of students from schools of Semey and Kurchtov, Abay, Beskaragay, Borodulikha, Ayagoz, Zharma, Tarbagatay, Kokpekty, Urdzhar districts was full of discussions. The students, in turn, asked various questions and shared their thoughts on the topic.
– Today’s lesson was meaningful for us, with historical facts. Over the years of in-dependence, we have learned how new changes and processes have progressed in all spheres of life of our society. I believe that we must work for the prosperity and well-being of our country and sovereignty. Independence is our main wealth, – said 11th grade student Alua Baizak.
Within the framework of the event, an exhibition of books, photographs, term pa-pers of students on independence was organized, books of the First President of the country Nur-Sultan Nazarbayev were also presented.
