The memory of the heroes in our hearts forever!

This year we celebrate the 74th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. Millions of people laid down their heads on the battlefield to extinguish the fire of the war that engulfed a half of the universe. How many people did not not return from the war. As the saying goes, “The further the mountains, the higher they get”, despite the fact that a lot of time has passed, people still do not cease to talk about the exploits of the war heroes that have become the batyr legends. For the younger generation, this is a priceless history.
Since the beginning of May, the teachers and students of the “Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey” traditionally hold events that nurture and elevate the spirit of youth. Under the leadership of a basic military training teacher, a retired major Kuanysh Mukhammadiyev and school curators, the students laid flowers at the Eternal Flame in the city center, thus showing the honor to their ancestors, who became an example of reckless bravery and courage.
“The Great Patriotic War is one of the most tragic events in our history. The aftermath of the war can be endlessly listed: the death of millions of people, the mothers who lost their sons, the sons left without fathers. Only thanks to our grandparents, and children who had to work since their childhood, they managed to stop and defeat the occupying enemy, showing what the true love for the country, land, and Motherland is. We are indebted to the older generation. Today’s event is only a part of our respect”, said our student Zhanel Abylkasymova.
A group of students and teachers visited several houses of veterans in our city to see their daily lives. The group congratulated the veterans on the holiday. One of the veterans is a 93-year-old Kamketai Baiyrov. Our grandfather, who went to war at the age of 17, took part in the liberation of Leningrad city, which remained in the foothills of the enemy. The son of the Kazakhs, who participated in the military battles on the Baltic Sea, said that he still remembers the deep sorrow of the heroic city. Our grandfather, who served in the Soviet Army for about 10 years, after returning to the country in 1953, was awarded the medals “For the Great Patriotic War”, “For the Defense of Ukraine”, and the orders of the “Great Patriotic War II degree”, “Admiral Kuznetsov”, “Veteran of Labor”. Now, aksakal with his wife raised nine children. An elderly aksakal, who shared with his memories of the war, wished that there would be no more war.
On the same day, the students visited the veterans of the Great Patriotic War: Nikolai Butko, Vasily Belich, Kumar Yelubayev and thanked them for today’s peaceful day. Vasily Fedorovich, one of the veterans, asked for help from students. In this regard, our students promised to tidy up the veteran’s yard and clean the house.
