Rishat became the winner of the All-Russian scientific works’ contest

On March 29-30, the XX All-Russian Conference – students’ research works contest named “Young Researchers in Science and Technology” was held in Tomsk, where over 300 schoolchildren presented their work in various fields. One of the participants of the competition was our compatriot, a 10th grade student of “Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey” Rishat Meyirzhanuly, who not only perfectly represented the country in scientific contest, but also took the 1st place in it. At the competition, the young scientist presented a “Linear erosion” project.
With his project, a school student wanted to attract the attention of specialists to the appearance of ravines in Novopokrovka village, Borodulikha District, and their impact on the environment. A young scientist worked on the project for almost a year. And the student was assisted in the study by both school teachers and scientific consultants.
“In order to defend the project, I conducted research throughout the year. I went to Novopokrovka village twice. Today, the ravines in the village expand from 10 to 40 meters per year. And this, in turn, destroys buildings, growing trees and wells. In addition, the roads and acreage are damaged, which threatens nature and human life in general. Therefore, we should not be indifferent to this. According to the research results, I together with my scientific consultant – hydrogeological engineer of “Semeyhydrogeology” LLP Larisa Gushchina, drew the attention of the heads of local peasant farms to all these threats. Now everything depends on them”, says the student.
In the next stage, Rishat will take part in the International conference named after V.Vernadsky, which will be held next year in Moscow.
