Network Dombra Lesson

A dombra lesson was held at the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey. In order to popularize the national art form, expand students’ ideas about dombra, musical compositions and kuishi, “Madeniet salasynyn uzdigi” of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a kuishi composer, laureate of republican and international competitions Aibek Bekbosyn, was invited to the lesson.

– The dombra lesson is held as part of the 100 kuy project. More than 2 thousand dombrists will take part in the lesson in the network of Intellectual Schools. In addition, if we take into account that we have other students who came to watch, you can see that the scale of this event is very wide, and the arrival of the kuishi composer Aibek Bekbosyn gave a new impetus to young dombra players, – says the deputy director for educational work of the school Larisa Abylkasymova.

During the kuishi lesson, Aibek Bekbosyn and history teacher Bauyrzhan Serikuli shared their knowledge and talked about the contribution of music to social development. Aibek performed his kui “Tarbagatai”, and our colleague – kui Tolegen Mombekov “Saltanat”.

– It is gratifying that young people are growing who have a positive attitude towards Kazakh art. Today I attended dombra lessons with great pleasure. In general, the all-roundness of students studying in the Intellectual Schools brings joy. Let the generation that glorifies Kazakh art, dombra, kui grow up, – said Aibek Bekbosyn.

At the end of the event, more than 60 dombra players, together with the guests, performed Kurmangazy’s “Balbyrauyn” kui.
