«Photocamp» for young photographers

Within the framework of the project from AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” and “national Geographic,” “Photocamp” was held in NIS of Chemistry and Biology in Almaty. Photocamp is a week-long camp where students from all intellectual schools learn the rules of photography. The training was conducted by Gerd Lugwig, a famous American photographer of the National Geographic magazine. He told the stories of his photographs and how he got started in photography.

My classmate Dias Baimukhametov and I took part in this project from our school. We studied the law of composition of photography, shooting rules and various tricks for interesting shots. On the very first day we found close friends from all cities of Kazakhstan. As novice photographers say, photography for them is not just a set of frames, but a transfer of a piece of the soul, it is a story about the present. Most of all, the students remembered the practical part, which took place in the Park of the First President, the Kasteev Museum, and also in “Medeo.”
We were very inspired by the atmosphere of the photo camp, so soon we are planning to conduct courses and days of our students on the basis of our school,- said Alima Babakpayeva, a student of grade 10D of NIS of Physics and Mathematics in Semey.
