The students of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey organized a large-scale event dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The network dombyra-flash mob, held in one of the largest shopping malls in the city center, attracted the attention of every viewer and presented a real festive mood. The traditional flashmobs called “Uly dala muragerleri” give an opportunity to popularize the works of folk and modern Kazakhstani composers.
The purpose of the flashmob is to support the policy of Leader of the Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev and promote our national dombyra instrument and the art of kyuis, as well as instill in students a sense of patriotism.
– It can be said that launching the “100 kyuis” project turned out to be very useful for the students of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. Thanks to this project, how many children took in hands the dombyra for the first time and got acquainted with the power of kyuis. Moreover, the students had the opportunity to learn about the history of the origin of kyuis and the lives of the authors. The preparation for the given flashmob began at the beginning of the current school year. We selected several kyuis from the list included in the “100 kyuis” project. Among them, the dombyra orchestra, consisting of 7-8th grade students, played the kuy of Kurmangazy – “Adai”, and the teachers played the kyui of Bayzhigit – “Kokserke”. However, we also remember to perform the kyuis of local celebrities. For example, many people do not know that a great akyn Abai also composed kyui. Our students, having performed the “Tor Zhorga” kyui, revealed another side of the great thinker. We believe that flashmobs will help us to revive ancient kyuis”,- says Madiyar Ashirov, trainer of the dombyra club.
The total number of flashmob participants is 180 students. The junior students of our school showed what they have learned in the last 3 months. In addition to the dombyra orchestra, in this event the main prize-winner of the international art competition “Uly dala kyrandary”, a 7th grade student Abdanur Ayazbekov performed the kyui of Seken Turysbekov “Kongil tolkyny”, and the trainer of the kobyz club Zhanel Askarova personally played the kyui of Ykylas under the name “Akku”. The event was so interesting and exciting that everyone who was present in the shopping mall applauded.
