Academic stress release through educational kinesiology

From November 24 the trainings from “Educational kinesiology. Academic stress release” program will be held at our school among 7th and 10th grade students. The purpose of the given trainings is to teach students to use fascinating and light physical exercises to activate certain areas of the brain and relieve academic stress before passing summative works.
The term “kinesiology” is derived from the Greek words kinesis – “movement” and logos – “science, word”. This direction arose at the junction of various practices and disciplines: body-oriented psychotherapy, personality psychology, general psychology, psychosomatic medicine, neuropsychology, and neurophysiology and movement physiology. In addition, the experience of some ancient Eastern practices (yoga, Chinese medicine) is used. The kinesiological exercises synchronize the work of the hemispheres, increase stress resistance, improve mental activity, help improve memory, increase attention stability, develop fine and gross motor skills, facilitate the process of reading and writing, contribute to the formation of spatial concepts, reduce tiredness, and improve voluntary attention. In our school, many students and teachers have successfully been using these exercises for two years. As experience shows, a reasonable use of educational kinesiology has good prospects and can make a significant contribution to the harmonization of the child’s development and overcoming various kinds of stress.
