Greetings from Hong Kong!

Despite the fact that the students of our school in Hong Kong are now far away from us, strengthening relations with graduates is one of the key principles of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey. Just having started the school year, the students of the school held the same online meeting with students who entered the University of Hong Kong “PolyU” as a skype meeting held with our graduate Tengiz Ibrayev studying at New York University in Abu Dhabi. Aliya Tumanbayeva, Gulim Kabdenova, Balzhan Amangeldina, the graduates who have been studying in foreign country, widely acquainted children with student life and ways of entering a higher educational institution. During the free interview, our graduates also shared with us the traditions and generally accepted rules for living abroad. We asked questions that interested us about the city of Hong Kong, the university and the educational process. Answering each question, the students highlighted the fact that Hong Kong is one of the countries with high-growth economy and shared their impressions. As far as we know, there are a lot of foreigners from Asia and Europe at the University of PolyU in Hong Kong. In this regard, since each student has different interests, various courses and interest clubs constantly function at the university. For example, our graduates focus on the development of their creativity through extracurricular interest clubs. We were especially surprised by the fact that the university tries in every possible way to create and organize in advance all the conditions for each student. One example is that the student dormitory is equipped with the necessary technology. The scholarship is also paid in full for one term. Moreover, we are very interested in the order of admission to the university. In this regard, our graduates gave us the necessary advice and shared their experiences. The online meeting was so impressive that in the future, we hope that we will be able to overcome all the difficulties and obstacles that await us on our way. At the end of the meeting, good wishes were expressed on both sides.
