The “Culture” project reminds us of our past.

In our school various measures are being taken and implemented to deepen the history of the region, country and culture. One of them is the “Culture” project. As part of this project, we have recently visited historical and cultural monuments and sights of our city. We do not know in detail the history and during what time the construction was built, although in everyday life we often see, walk and relax in nature and in different places of the city. The main purpose of this trip was to compensate for this gap and strengthen our sense of patriotism.
So, our first stop was Semey Suspension Bridge. The significance of the bridge, which was put into operation at the beginning of the new century, is of great importance not only for the city, but also for the entire republic. The historic site with a length of over 1 km is one of the few bridges in the world in terms of architectural features. Today a huge bridge, which has become the pride of the citizens, is the main symbol of our city. Inspired by the beauty of the bridge, we reached the monument of our great ancestor, continuing our journey down Abay Street. The monument of Khakim Abay, which is seen from afar, has become one of the places where not only our compatriots, but also guests from near and far abroad and other cities pray and bow the great Abai. A stone monument of the great Kazakh akyn was solemnly opened in 1972. Each of us knows that the life of Abay is closely connected with the city of Semipalatinsk.
Each monument that we visited has its own history. Among them, the Yamyshevskie Gate, the Russian Church, the central mosque with twin towers, the monument to the veterans of the Afghan war, the Nevzorov Museum, the monument to Kairat Ryskulbekov, the well-known Abay studying Kaiym Mukhamedkhanov. Many historical and cultural places can tell about the past stages of life. Having visited all of the above places, we managed to expand our horizons. In our opinion, every citizen should know the history of his country and native land. Knowing our story helps us to predict our future. In this regard, we thank the curators for giving us this opportunity.
