Blessing and respecting the elderly is one of the qualities we, the Kazakh people, have in our lives. Cheering lonely elderly people is one of the blessed things. The dormitory pupils of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey realized one of their planned events.
Nursing home in our city became a permanent shelter for some old handicapped people and for those elderly who have no support from their relatives. Our students came to this place with their labor- creative- informative program to fill at least one day of these sad, unhappy people.
Within the framework of our country’s program “Spiritual Revival” the pupils of the dormitory, who have started the social project “Good Heart”, made a great contribution to the emotional and spiritual state of the residents of the Semey nursing home with their program “We honor the Old!”. During the event organized by the dormitory tutors A.Muкhatova, K.Kasimova, A.Durmekbayeva, E.Karibaev, the students cleaned the yard of the nursing home and took part in various sports competitions, team games with the residents of the home. The old people together with the students painted with magic brushes and sang different songs, made a trip to their childhood with the help of the dormitory puppet theater.
-We prepared everything for this event very properly. As it was a labor- creative- informative program, we tried to make our trainees take an active part in every deed. As a result, they were especially excited about cleaning the yard and were delighted to participate in sports and team games. For example, Aruzhan Kaimoldina, Ilyas Zharylgasin competed with the old in a friendly chess match. Aida Taitoleu and Almara Serikhan drew the portraits of two people. Among our pupils, Zhansaya Galimova performed Shakarim’s song”This song is different from the old song”, and Mariam Dosmagulova performed Abai’s song “Light Moon in the Night” accompanied with the kobyz. The performance of “Aldar Kose” set up by the Puppet Theater was an impressive one. Students liked taking part in a variety of team contests with the elderly people, moreover the answers of the old to quizzes surprised our students very much, “says Aizhan Dauytbekovna, a dormitory educator.
The old people, in their turn, showed the museum “Glory of the war” where the clothes and gun models of Great Patriotic War were displayed to the young quests. The students were introduced the history of each exhibit and the younger generation were told how difficult it was to overcome the difficulties.
By the end of the event there was signed a memorandum in order to deepen the relationship between the dormitory and the nursing home. Under the Memorandum, our students will continue to provide care and charity in the future. The talented pupils, who had been blessed by gray-bearded gray-haired people, took memorable photos and wished good health to the representatives of older generation.
