A fascinating game – “Aquacelange”

Pouring each other’s water is a very interesting game characteristic of peoples living in East Asia. The most interesting thing in this game is that it is necessary to pour the opponent’s water from head to foot. Water impregnations are an inalienable tradition of celebrating the New Year in countries such as Thailand and Myanmar. According to the belief, the person who has been soaked to the maximum before the coming of the new year will live in prosperity and well-being all next year. Also these peoples believe that water protects a person from all troubles and sorrows.
We decided to play this game in the framework of our summer school, but it’s worth noting that we do not do it for the purpose of any tradition or belief, our main goal is to have some fun with the soul. The benefit today is very hot weather and everyone seems to be ready to plunge into the water and escape from the sizzling heat. All participants actively supported the idea of the game “Aquacelange”, even brought with them water pistols. Participants were divided into 8 teams, all were distributed at 8 stations, each station had assignments connected in one way or another with water. For example, at one of the stations, students had to transfer water from one bucket to another at a speed with the help of glasses, while buckets were located from each other at a distance of 3 meters. The main goal is to collect a large amount of water without losing it during the transfusion from one glass to another. At the other station, the children rushed into each other with balls filled with water, fun and joy of the children there was no limit at this moment. Everyone was running wet and happy. After a couple of misses, the students quickly learned how to catch the balls. After going through all 8 stages of the contest together with their counselors the children were very happy and received their deserved awards for the contest. There were few children “who got out of the water”, in the literal sense of the word, but this event did not upset any of them.
Also a big plus for students was immersion in the environment of English-speaking people, which is an excellent opportunity to enrich the vocabulary and the general horizons of children. Just like in the previous days, the participants of the summer school expanded their knowledge by attending academic and creative courses.
– For more than a week I’ve been attending a summer school. During this time, I knew a lot of interesting things, gained new knowledge and expanded my horizons by performing various games and tasks. In the summer school there are various creative circles. I like to visit a circle of “pottery” and “painting”. I learned a lot from these circles. I would like to express special gratitude to all the teachers who every day come up with new tasks and exciting games for us. Thanks to this, our days are not similar one to another and we are anticipating dad new games from foreign teachers. Also on these games we fill up our stock of knowledge of English words, and we have become better able to express our thoughts in English. I am very happy about the opportunity to be in this summer school and hope to continue my language training in the next academic year, – Adel Beisenaliyizy, a student from No. 32 of the School. We are very glad to hear flattering feedback from the participants. After all, the main goal of our teachers is to dip children into the wonderful world of science and creativity. Expand the participants in the ability and satisfy their needs.
