Diaz Baimukhametov, a 11th grade student of the Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey, took first place in the Photocamp-2021 competition among students of the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools. The project was implemented jointly with National Geographic.
Photocamp is a joint project of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and National Geographic. In June of this year, students of the Intellectual Schools took part in it, who studied the basics of photography for a week. The training in Almaty was conducted by Gerd Lugwig, a famous American photographer from National Geographic magazine.
– The main goal of the competition is to raise the level of knowledge of our students who have completed the Photocamp course about the world in the frame. Support their wildest fantasies. In addition, the revitalization of the photo studio in each school. 42 contestants took part in the network competition. The works of our students were accepted in the direction: “Local history. Tugan elge tagzym “,” Serving the society “,” The faces of my city – a moment of happiness … “,” My summer vacation “, – said Aida Agadil, Deputy Director of the Development Department of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools.
Diaz has long been into photography. Outside of school hours, he is engaged in a photo club at the television studio of our school.
– For me, photographing various phenomena in the environment is not just an interest, but an art that requires a lot of work. The study of this direction requires a lot of effort and work. Dauren Kosherbayev is my mentor. I learn from him the various techniques required for a successful photo shoot. And the Photocamp course gave us a great opportunity to become photographers. I am very grateful for this to our teachers and course organizers, – said Diaz Baimukhametov.
