A seminar was held at “Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey” as part of the social project “Serving society”. This project is one of the cornerstones of the educational work in our school. The project, the purpose of which is to instill in students such human qualities as morality, patriotism, mercy and kindness, is bearing its fruit. 70 students and about 30 teachers were invited to the seminar.
“To date, the project “Serving society” is working in full force. The project covers four areas: ecology, volunteering, social services and charity. In this regard, in addition to providing special social assistance to adaptation centers for children and adolescents, correctional centers, kindergartens and other city events, we also carry out various charity events. The next step is to introduce this experience in all secondary schools of the city. This long-term project is designed for the next three months. Soon, each school will present its projects at GIN conference,” said Larisa Abylkassymova, Deputy Director for educational work.
A long-term project is implemented by training the students and teachers of 14 universities. The organizer-curators of our school were assigned as project mentors. Those schools, that have completed the training, also train and instruct other schools. The participants of the first seminar were fully acquainted with the project “Serving society”.
“I was very impressed with today’s seminar. I realized that everyone experiences the problems that occur in our society. Only by working together we can solve these problems. The main purpose of my participation in the event is to learn how to solve the social problems. Based on my experience here, I’m going to start a project called “The warmth of the soul” at my school”, said Madina Kaiyrbek, a student of lyceum N22.
The workshop taught the children to be leaders and work in groups, and their class supervisors learned how to organize the social projects.
