NIS teachers and students receive certificates for their inventions and science works protected by copyright

The beginning of 2020 for “Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey” Branch of AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools” has begun with good news. The head of the Physics teachers’ methodological department, a Physics teacher, Askhat Zhumabekov Sovetkhanovich received a certificate of authorship on new approaches in teaching and learning, as well as the methods of teaching Physics at school.

“The most important factor in the successful formation of solid knowledge in Physics is the development of the students’ educational and cognitive enthusiasm in classes, which is achieved by the intellectual and emotional preparation of students for the perception of a new educational material. Currently, the schools have a task to form a new leader of the 21st century and to increase his creative activity. I believe that the task of teachers is to liberate the student’s thinking and increase the coefficient of his useful action,” said Askhat Sovetkhanovich.

The 11th grade students – Kadesov Bek and Rymkan Alisher received the certificates of authorship for work and photographs dedicated to the study of the gold nanoparticles structure for the use in the oncotherapy. The students had been working on it for almost a year and a half. This research work was carried out with the aim of finding an alternative to the conventional means of chemotherapy and radiotherapy. As a result of a series of experiments, the gold nanoparticles of the correct spherical shape were obtained, which are used for medical purposes. To achieve this goal, the various stabilizers, the gold nanoparticles production and detection methods were investigated at the laboratories of the Semey Shakarim State University, Serikbayev East-Kazakhstan State University and “Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Physics and Mathematics in Semey” Branch of AEO “Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools”.

“The students did a great job. In order to study the structure of the obtained gold nanoparticles, the experiments were carried out using spectrometry and transmission electronic microscopy to reveal the morphology of particles and their sizes. A rather long stage was the study of literature and sources in the given direction. To achieve this goal, the students studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Computer Modeling. This study promotes oncology therapies and an interdisciplinary STEAM. The use of gold nanoparticles is demonstrated by computer modeling. In the future, it is planned to test gold nanoparticles on sections of cancer cells. For this, it is planned to conclude a memorandum with the Research Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Oncology in Semey. We want to express our deep gratitude for supporting our school, the parents of students, and our scientific consultants: A.N. Klivenko – PhD, a senior lecturer at Semey Shakarim State University, Jess A.V. – a chief specialist of Serikbayev East-Kazakhstan State University,” said a project supervisor Askhat Zhumabekov.

The Republican scientific and practical center “Daryn” of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan holds the annual final stage of the republican scientific projects contest from February 11 to 14, 2020, in Almaty, at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. These days, the students of our school Kadesov Bek and Rymkan Alisher, Seitkaliyev Ulan and Sabigaliyev Alisher will take part in the final stage of the Republican scientific projects contest of “Daryn”.
