Teach. Motivate. Inspire.

“Teach. Motivate. Inspire ”- an article under such a positive heading  was published in the popular Russian magazine“ School Library ” by the senior teacher-librarian of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Semey Sholpan Sumbembaeva. The publication was caused by the interest of foreign colleagues in the Kazakhstani experience of the library service. Today, libraries of the Intellectual Schools are multifunctional informational and methodological centers that implement  interactive methods to promote the reader’s culture, integrated lessons are conducted with subject teachers, social campaigns and projects are implemented , and broadcast the best domestic experience to the country’s secondary education. Since 2016, the status of NIS librarians has been updated, in accordance with the mission and great functionality, they have been assigned the status of “teacher – librarian”. At the main professional forums of IFLA and IASL, the organizers include in the program speeches of representatives of Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools in all cases, who acquaint foreign colleagues with new trends and achievements in the library system. In 2017, at the World Library and Information Congress IFLA in Wroclaw (Poland), the NIS team brought the poster “Teach, Motivate, Inspire”, since then many librarians of the world associate this positive expression  with the Kazakhstan Intellectual Schools. Last year, the practical work “Interactive Methods of Reading Promotion” was included in the shortlist of the best works of the IASL annual conference “Information, Innovation and the Impact of School Libraries”.
